We selected this hotel for its proximity to WashU and its cool location. It had comfortable beds and good water pressure but the room was tired and in need of a serious makeover. It was dirty when we arrived and we were right next to a laundry so it sounded like water was running all night. Additionally, the service and housekeeping were horrendous. We didn’t get any housekeeping services - the guy with the housekeeping cart near us reeked of weed - and, what really irked me, is instead of trying to make it right, the hotel told me I booked through a third party vendor and I needed to contact them. The third party vendor booking is not obvious on Moonrise’s website and reaching out to them just led to a runaround with neither party taking responsibility. We paid $350 per night and it was way over priced. There are many better hotels in Clayton that are a 5-10 minute Uber ride from the action!

We just spent 3 nights and had the best experiences here. Staff was cool, knowledgeable and most of all kind!!! Thanks to Scott at the desk for starting our first Moonrise welcome, Danny for helping with our bags and a Huge shoutout to Sydney who made us feel like family❤️. Valet was on it as well!! Keep up the good work guys, you were all wonderful. Till we return, 👏☮️👏☮️

Grat location in a fun part of town. Many dining options right outside the door. Rooms are comfortably furnished. Liked the space related memorabilia in the lobby area. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking just behind the hotel.

If you like being robbed, threatened, and then having your reservation changed, the Moonrise is your place. My wife and I booked the Moonrise because their website says they have a car charger on site. It is not free, as it says on the website. They’ll charge you 20$ for valet, tell you this isn’t a bit deal, and then offer a condo’s charger three buildings down as a workaround. The valets are threatening, the AG is threatening and unhelpful, and when you’re unhappy with being treated as such, they’ll charge you for a no-show when you were there and were so poorly treated that you didn’t feel safe leaving your car at the hotel and staying there. If there’s anywhere else you can stay, stay there instead. This place isn’t a place to stay in St Louis ever.

Our experience on 8/31/24 was horrific. We booked the hotel for the electric car charger. When we arrived, a non-electric car was parked there in the charging space, and when we asked, we were told we had to valet and pay to use the charger. The attendant was awfully rude, as was the “AG.“ We were in town to visit my dying mother. The AG told us we could go stay in an Airbnb down the street. He was rude, sardonic, and condescending, exacerbating an already traumatic time. It was awful, and we left absolutely shaken and upset.
