About the Hotel

Rising majestically above the 600 acre beach front resort of Anse Chastanet, Jade Mountain Resort on St. Lucia’s south-western Caribbean coastline is a cornucopia of organic architecture celebrating St. Lucia’s stunning scenic beauty. Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy has expanded upon his philosophy of building in harmony with Caribbean nature in his creation of Jade Mountain St. Lucia. The bold architectural design – individual bridges leading to exceptional infinity pool sanctuaries and rugged stoned-faced columns reaching towards the sky – makes Jade Mountain St. Lucia one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences.

A very relaxing 2nd visit to this unique location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We had a beautiful anniversary visit. September is a great time to go. It’s hot and humid but not busy at all. We were the only people on all of our excursions - it’s like having a private boat! Jungle biking is fun - it’s more about local history and plants than hard biking, which is fine with me. You could hang onto the bikes and do more difficult trails if you wanted though. We learned a lot from Hank and got to try fruits right off the tree. Next time we will do more hiking in the jungle, we ran out of time this visit. The snorkeling is pretty good, not the healthiest or most abundant reef, but entertaining for an hour or so. Husband said the diving is much better. He had a great time going out in the boat with Xavier and Tory. Our room was absolutely amazing - as return visitors, celebrating an anniversary and there off-season, the resort gave us an upgrade to a moon suite. The infinity pool is heaven - and necessary after climbing all the steps in high humidity (there is a shuttle, but we prefer the exercise) I had a very nice spa visit with Soraya. Note that there is a spa location at Jade. I ended up in the beach location and had to get a quick shuttle back up the hill. After all the hype about the food, we were a bit disappointed. It was all pretty mediocre. The fish is all reef fish that’s very dense and dry. Chicken tended to be dry, overcooked. Beef is always iffy outside the US. The best dishes were actually vegetarian and shrimp. To be fair, I think it being slow season, the usual chef was away. It’s too bad they don’t have backup to keep the quality high in those times. We did have a favorite server, Vanessa who kept us laughing and having fun. And the bartenders are great - definitely go to Melvyn’s rum tasting. He knows his stuff. We tried even more rums in the Jade bar with Bentley and Parker, who threw in some good education on the history of rum in the region. My biggest tips: hang at anse mamin beach - less people, good food, quiet beach. And be prepared for the transfers - take snacks and Dramamine for the car ride. It’s a pretty drive but winding and bumpy. Better yet, spring for the heli! Third, it would be worth checking that the main chef will be in residence during your stay.

Out of this world!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Quite simply ... out of this world!!! You glide everywhere without any effort as everything is thought of and catered for. We went on an indulgent girly trip to celebrate our friends 60th! There are no words when you walk into your sanctuary - just a sense of you have arrived to paradise. My sister and I have thought about Jade Mountain EVERY day since returning and promised ourselves we WILL be returning again. When asked to do a review - they sign off as follows... "Our sincerest wish is that memories of St. Lucia and Jade Mountain remain close to your heart." I promise you Jade Mountain is in your hearts!! A place you never want to leave!

Resort is outdated and service is clumsy

We stayed 4 nights at Jade Mountain and 5 nights at Sugar Beach. Due to Hurricane Beryl, we spent an additional night at Sugar Beach before transferring to Jade Mountain. If you're deciding between the two, I'd recommend Sugar Beach. If doing both, stay a maximum of 2 nights at Jade Mountain first before transferring to Sugar Beach. Pros: Food: Exceptional 5-star meals. They even cooked tuna we caught and turned it into a thoughtful 3-course meal. Views: Stunning. In-Room Massages: Highly relaxing and professional. Cons: Outdated Facilities: The resort, built in 2006, seems to have had no updates since then and feels tired. It doesn’t feel like a 5-star experience. Beware: the rooms are hot without AC. Outdated Boutiques: The boutiques were not selling merchandise reflective of a 5 star resort. Service Issues: Post-hurricane, Sugar Beach staff operated seamlessly, while Jade Mountain struggled. We arrived an hour before check-in and were told our room would take longer to setup due to the hurricane, which was understandable. However, we were left unattended at the Jade Mountain Club for 2 hours and had to seek out staff to get updates. Our butler introduced us with several paper forms to sign, a process that could have been handled digitally beforehand. We were given a bottle of Veuve Clicquot as an apology, but a resort credit would have been more appreciated. Checkout Confusion: Despite confirming our 10 am pickup time multiple times, the process was disorganized. No one came to settle the bill at the agreed time, leading to delays and additional paperwork. They put the wrong guests in our shuttle, who then had to switch with us. Transportation: The shuttles that take you around the property are cramped and in poor condition. The Troubetzkys need to invest financially in the property and place higher expectations on upper management to train staff in delivering a true 5-star experience. Jade Mountain has great potential but falls short in several areas compared to Sugar Beach.

Anniversary

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

My wife took a delayed 25 year anniversary trip to the Jade Mt Resort. Since we were sans kids we decided to go all in. The Sky Sanctuary was booked with a helicopter ride to and from the resort. Arrival at the airport was hot, and technical difficulties led to a delay in the helicopter ride. So we opted to take a car with AC. It was hot and humid. Those arriving, there is no need to have a porter take your bags 15 feet outside the gate. Be aware. Despite not flying, the ride to the resort was interesting. The resort staff made sure our arrival was commensurate with the expectations of a getaway. We were initially overwhelmed with the reception after the long trip. But the room was everything that was expected. Wonderful view, wonderful amenities. We were able to relax, enjoy the views, and renew our relationship. The resort is on the mountain but shuttle service is available upon request. We were given a personal phone if we needed anything at anytime. My wife and I couldn't have been happier. The ride back on the helicopter capped off a good trip. I would recommend.
