Located in the heart of Salzburg, the Hotel Sacher Salzburg extends along the river Salzach, offering the most stunning views over the old-town, the river and the mountains. Since 1866, Salzburg's only grand hotel is in the caring hands of the Gürtler and Winkler family. In the newly renovated hotel, trend and tradition fuses seemingly, whilst it provides a unique balance of history and innovation. Throughout, the individual designs of the 109 rooms and suites, one can discover the luxurious ambiance of the 19th century combined with contemporary state-of-the-art comfort. Many of the rooms and suites offer additional balconies, providing a remarkable impression of Salzburg. With a wonderful view over the river, you can see the "Fortress Hohensalzburg" and the old town, which represents the birthplace of Mozart. The unique location and variety of restaurants and bars enable guests to enjoy the historical ambiance of Salzburg perfectly. Thus, the traditional fine-dining hotel restaurant "Zirbelzimmer" creates a memorable experience of Salzburg´s haute cuisine in its purest and original form. On the other hand, the gourmet restaurant "Sacher Grill" convinces with its authentic rustically charm and the best seasonal and refined creations.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg. The hotel has a beautiful indoor atrium, with flowers throughout. The decor and amenities are luxurious. Rooms facing the river have especially great views. The breakfast buffet was amazing, both in presentation and taste. The staff was wonderful, from front-desk, valet, restaurant, buffet, to the bar, where we were introduced to great local drinks. We had a wonderful time during our stay, and would stay here again.

We visited a number of high end hotels for cocktails during our stay in Salzburg – the Sacher was the best! A really cosy bar and very welcoming staff – drinks were excellent and served with delicious accompanying snacks. We would definitely return – thank you.

This hotel is the epitome of luxury. I usually find that a lot of high-end hotels in Europe lean into a traditional aesthetic, which often comes across as a bit dull and dated. The Sacher is like a modern interpretation of a royal residence; it is an exquisitely decorated hotel that harmoniously blends tradition and modernity. The signature suite was beautiful and spacious, with a tastefully designed bookshelf and lounge area. The hand-written welcome note and snacks were a nice touch, as was the complimentary mini-bar. Bedding was great as one would expect, and the bathroom had a good shower, high tech toilet and a bathtub. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the chocolate-scented toiletries (though certainly creative, not my favourite scent). They had an excellent breakfast buffet, and the lounge next to the lobby area was beautiful as well. Everyone at the front desk was welcoming, and the concierge provided great alternative restaurant recommendations when popular restaurants were sold out. The central location made it very convenient for walking around Salzburg. This was an expensive stay, but also a very memorable experience. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel, and hope to return someday.

Fell in love with the Sacher Salzburg ... the Staff, the service, the food, the bar ambiance, but most of all their hospitality is unsurpassed. A true 5 stars the old-fashioned way, Best 5 stars experience we ever had.!!!! We loved it so much we extended our stay. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous views of the town. Can't wait to go back!

Thank you Hotel Sacher Salzburg for such a wonderful stay in every way! My hotel check-in was the best experience I have ever had in my many years of travel. Such attention to detial and personalized service. My room was just lovely with a wonderful personalized note left, a welcome treats tray--including the famous Sacher Torte-- and free mini bar drinks. It also had a beautiful balcony overlooking the river and old town. We dined in the hotel restaurant, cafe, and had drinks at the bar. The experience at all three of these hotel establishments was superb. Should I return to Salzburg, I will definitely return to Hotel Sacher!
