About the Hotel
When railroad tycoon Frederick William Vanderbilt built the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, part of the Legend collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, in 1919 it was Puerto Rico's only luxury hotel – President and Eleanor Roosevelt stayed here, part of a long list of notable guests. If the architecture looks familiar, it might be because the design firm also drew up the plans for New York's Grand Central Terminal. Graceful archways and sweeping staircases remain intact in this fully restored landmark, which presides over the Atlantic Ocean with two guestroom towers that are sumptuously modern.

Can’t say enough about quality of stay
Outstanding in all respects: location, room, amenities, restaurants, and especially the staff! We were surprised by how quiet the hotel was. Everywhere we went (pool, gym, restaurants) it seemed like we were alone! I can’t say enough about the staff, several remembered our names after just one encounter! This was a dream vacation. We plan to return for our wedding anniversary next year.

Excellent hotel in San Juan
We stayed at this hotel for two days while in San Juan and it was an excellent hotel. The pool, spa, bars, and nightlife was everything we were hoping for. Food was excellent as was the service. We had a wonderful time and would definetly return.

Some Tweaking is needed at the gorgeous Condado Vanderbilt!
Condado Vanderbilt--please do better! This is my husbands "go to" hotel when he comes on business to beautiful Puerto Rico. It is most definitely the best hotel in the area with major ammenities,breathtaking views and grounds.. I decided to join him on this trip. We waited 3 hours to get into our room! We lost an entire day! We arrived at 3:00---we did not get into our room until 6:00! Maybe short staffed --off season? Really bizarre! Everyday our room was not getting cleaned until 4:00--or later. I just feel like the training is way off-- the staff at the pool are literally shy to come up and ask if you need anything etc. There is literally zero service at The Tacos and Tequilla pool. The Ola pool has a super human working ,her name is ANA--she needs a raise. She single handedly ran that pool!

Great facilities, friendly staffs
The only thing to complain is the room temperature. It keeps our room at 63 degree, which is freezing cold. The tech team tired to fix it, but it remained the same. As a result, we needed to turn off the AC to sleep. Except this, it’s still a good stay.

Highly Recommend
Excellent location., terrific customer service, restaurants at the property are top notch. Hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are nicely appointed. Only draw back was the beach which had very rough seas and we weren't able to to utilize the beach as we wanted to. However, the pool area with the fantastic music, food, drinks and two pools easily made you forget about the beach. I highly recommend this hotel for those coming to San Juan. When you get there ask for Gian he's the truth and my wife absolutely adores him and he made sure our stay was excellent
