The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago

The hotel was fine. Rooms were nice and we slept well. Restaurant service is outstanding. And in fact, the top floor pool and fitness center was quite lovely and very relaxing. But I just found the degree of deferred maintenance and upkeep really surprising for a Ritz-Carlton. Highly scuffed doors, elevators, etc. EVERYWHERE. The place just looks like its better days passed a long time ago and the sense of being in a very tired hotel was pervasive. When I looked around the neighborhood and saw other much lower-priced hotels that were probably in much better shape I realized I had been had, paying only for the hotel brand name, but not really receiving much in return.

Hotel was fine and some of the reception and concierge staff like Cesar professional. That said as a loyal elite member of Bonvoy they never upgraded us when we had booked 2 rooms. On top of that the guys did not accommodate any of our group for the evening New Year’s Eve dinner same at breakfast service was lacking and poor.

As a frequent traveler, I must express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Heath Carlton in Santiago. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below the expectations set by the hotel’s own standards. 1. Connectivity issues: The internet in the room was extremely slow and unreliable, making it impossible to perform even basic activities like streaming videos. This problem is further aggravated by the lack of Smart TVs in the rooms; instead, guests are provided with a cable to connect their personal devices. However, the poor internet quality renders this option completely useless for streaming any content. 2. Bathroom leakage: There was a persistent leak in the bathroom, which I reported three times to the staff. Despite my complaints, no solution was provided. Even after escalating the issue to the on-duty manager, Jonathan, no effective action was taken. 3. Subpar service: It is disappointing that a hotel of Heath Carlton’s caliber fails to address basic issues reported by its guests, severely compromising the overall experience for those expecting comfort and functionality. Unfortunately, my stay was overshadowed by frustrations that could have easily been avoided with better management and proper maintenance. I cannot recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a reliable, high-standard experience or even basic amenities. I strongly recommend a serious reassessment of operational management to ensure future guests do not face similar problems.

Great property. Staff was super helpful and down to earth. Everyone, from the porters to the desk staff to the resturant and bar were all incredibly welcoming. Service was great. Rooms were nice and location is very good with a number of nice restaurants with-in walking distance. The Ritz does a great job with the buffet breakfast, which is extensive, plus omelets, eggs Benedict and other items can be prepared upon request. Our group of 6 had three rooms and all enjoyed our 2 night stay before heading down to Patagonia. Note that the rooms with odd numbers have much larger terraces than even numbered rooms , at least on our floor. Just something to ask about when booking since the extra space is nice for entertaining if there with a group. Also , our group had a very early departure on our last morning so we asked and the front desk had box snacks prepared for us upon departure.

Very disappointed with the service and amenities here. As many other reviews mention the air conditioning does not work. Over three whole days our room never cooled down with the AC on the entire time. Housekeeping made many mistakes including failing to replenish everyday necessities like towels. Would never stay again. The entire experience makes me never want to stay at a Ritz again as I no longer trust the brand.
