The hotel’s design embraces the artistic heritage of the neighborhood, while adding a cutting-edge modernity: it is an innovative homage to the city’s history and culture. The interior of the hotel recalls the days of yore: a tribute to the palaces of past centuries that sets the tone for the entire environment. Each doorway is a portal not just into another room, but to another place: a Singular setting with an ambiance all its own.

We were treated like royalty here. After we checked in, even the front door and concierge staff who hadn't met us knew our names. On our last day, we had a long gap between check-out and our flight: we were offered access to showers etc in the wellness center to freshen up before a long flight. The wellness center is really nice, easy to schedule treatments. Breakfast was delicious--the variety and quantity of a buffet but with the items brought to you by the staff. We ordered room service a few times, and it was excellent. The rooftop restaurant seemed quite popular. Our room was large and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The location for this hotel is special. Just around the corner--meaning, maybe 20 steps from the door--is a short pedestrian street that leads into Lastarria, which has great places to eat and drink (I recommend Chipe Libre for pisco sours and Boca Nariz for wine). If you go down Merced in one direction, you head to the museum of pre-colombian art, and in the other direction you can stroll along the park to the fine arts museum or cross the river and walk through Bellavista to the tram that goes up Cerro San Cristobal. For our first time in Santiago, this was the right neighborhood to stay in and the best hotel in the neighborhood. Highly recommend.

While we loved the Singular overall, we were disappointed that the upstairs restaurant and bar service was terrible. The wait staff was rude and unprofessional. We waited a long time for our drinks and food. When we inquired about the status of our order, the staff ignored us even more. We waited over 45 minutes to get our drinks, and our food order was even longer. The downstairs staff was outstanding, friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately, the service upstairs ruined our 3-night experience at the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous, service-oriented ideally situated hotel. The hotel is easy walking distance to both Santa Lucia and San Cristobal hills, the Musee Des Belles Artes, the fascinating per-Colombian art museums, and to many neighborhood restaurants. We especially enjoyed the food and service at CHPE Libre a block around the corner ,the delicious shwarma across the street, and the ice cream at Emporio La Rosa. Special thanks to Patricio, Gary, and Martin in reception, and to Fabian in the restaurant for great service and for their warmth and friendly service!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - we loved the feel of the hotel as it reminded us of the style and ambience of our favourite hotels in South East Asia. Beautiful decor throughout the property, with the rooms very calm, elegant and comfortable. Our King size room with balcony looked towards San Christobal hill which was nice, and was spacious and beautifully cleaned each day. The rooftop bar was a fantastic place for pre dinner drinks, and very good value we found. The pool was a little too cold for a proper swim, but the area around it was very pleasant to sit and relax taking in the late afternoon views. Breakfast was al la carte, tasty and very well presented. But our favourite thing about the hotel was their staff - everyone from the doormen, concierge, porter, front desk, breakfast room, cleaners and rooftop bar were professional, but welcoming and friendly. A particularly lovely thing was that, just like in Asia, many members of staff remembered our names and greeted us by them each day - really special touch! We felt very at home here. We’ll be back!

We only had one night here. The hotel itself is lovely and the Classic room we had was very spacious, comfortable and quiet with a nice outlook. Service here excellent and we enjoyed the degustation dinner here. Breakfast included - order from menu only. I prefer a buffet as it's quicker and no waste of food. A nice pool on top of the building however the diners in the rooftop bar/restaurant have a view over the pool so unless you/others have an amazing body, this may put you off swimming (or eating) here. The hotel is located in an upmarket area, very close to many restaurants etc. Nothing to do with the hotel - do be careful in Santiago - I had read about the snatch and grab attacks and thought I was being careful but obviously not careful enough - we were with a guide on a private walking tour - quiet Saturday morning a short distance from the hotel. I was standing on a footpath with my phone in my hand, attached to a lanyard which was wrapped around my forearm twice. The phone was in and out of my bag. A motor cycle came up from behind me, drove between me and the guide and snatched the phone from my hand - so quick and amazing that no one was hurt (have to admire the skill of these thieves). The phone detached from the lanyard. We immediately locked the phone down so it is absolutely of no use to anyone. For insurance, we spent the next few hours waiting at a police station with our guide to get a report. Needless to say, we were shaken by the experience and saw very little of Santiago which was disappointing. Luckily 5,000 photos uploaded to the cloud already after a 7 week holiday, this our last day. An important lesson learned. Be warned.
