While the setting along Oak Creek is beautiful and our cabin was charming, the service was far below five-star standards, especially for the high price point. On our first night, we had dinner at the bar and experienced extremely poor service: after taking our drink order, our server disappeared for 45 minutes, and we had to flag down staff for every part of the meal. Food arrived cold, and basic necessities like cutlery, salt, and pepper were missing. We were never asked for another drink order when our drinks were visibly empty. Despite giving feedback to the front desk, no proactive follow-up was made. The meal was only comped after we specifically asked for it when settling our bill. The following day, we had lunch down by the creek. The service started off much better, and we were hopeful, but when it came time to get our bill our server disappeared for 15 minutes and we had to track him down ourselves. The spa services we received were good. However, at checkout they informed us they had already added a 20% gratuity but said we could feel free to change it if we wanted, which came across as an uncomfortable pressure tactic rather than allowing guests to tip based on their experience, as you would expect at a five-star property. Additionally, when checking out, we noticed they had personalized “suggestion boxes” - pre-filled collections of retail products based on the type of service you received (available for purchase, not complimentary). The front desk attendant mentioned that we should have received one, but we hadn’t. Yet another small miss that reflected a lack of attention to detail. During our stay, we also took advantage of the nightly astronomer session offered in the parking lot. While we saw some interesting sights through the telescope, the astronomer was a little unenthusiastic and unapproachable. At a luxury property, you expect staff (even contractors) to be passionate and welcoming, but instead, it felt like we were bothering him by asking questions. Overall, while the natural beauty of the setting is undeniable, the service at every turn failed to meet five-star expectations or justify the premium price.

We paid nearly $1,000 per night expecting a true 5-star experience, but unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas. The good: The staff were truly wonderful—especially the valet and housekeeping teams, who were kind, attentive, and professional. Honestly, I would’ve rated this stay 2 stars if it weren’t for them. The not-so-good: We had breakfast at the hotel twice, and both times were disappointing. On one occasion, a cleaning crew started blowing dust around right in front of us while we were eating—completely unacceptable. The food was just okay and definitely overpriced, which led us to cancel our dinner reservation (there’s a reason the restaurant has such a low rating on Yelp). The room itself felt outdated. The shower had weak water pressure, and the pillows were so uncomfortable that we both woke up with neck pain. and I'm not sure what chemical was in the hot-tub. my husband and I both had rashes and itchiness after went inside the hot-tub. At this price point, we expected a much higher level of comfort and attention to detail. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the cost.

Stayed for 3 nights in the Vista Suite Cottage. I’d recommend staying here. Staff are super friendly and attentive. We had our dog with us and they were super pet friendly. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but enjoyed having drinks each night. Only criticism of the room is that it looks out onto the parking lot which takes away from the view a bit.

Gorgeous setting/ that’s about it We travel and and stay at 5 star boutiques hotels. They could raise the bar so easily. The fireplace in the room was the highlight. Breakfast delicious. Pool is sad. No true gift shop. Nature is the star of this property.

Beautiful landscaping, the grounds are breath taking. Meals outside by the creek were dreamy, we did not dine any where else (breakfast, lunch and dinner!!). Highly recommend for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay. All staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well taken care of. The pool is not the serene retreat we were hoping for but the jacuzzi was great. Garden Cottage rooms were comfortable and the fireplace and outdoor showers a plus.
