Situated at the famous Bund promenade and the unrivaled shopping area on Nanjing Road, it is the perfect place to explore Shanghai’s spectacular scenery and vibrant lifestyle. This landmark hotel has historically served as a glamorous playground for the elite, where every night was an extravagant gala event and veritable Parisian fashion show. Fairmont Peace Hotel continues to be a sought after venue for meetings, weddings and social events in the city.

Fairmont Peace Hotel is one of the best hotel in Shanghai. The service of this hotel is impeccable, during my whole stay, I was always greeted by my name and every of the staff recognize me. The food here is also really great, especially when I went to the Cathay Room to had dinner, the French cuisine there was delicious. Definitely will come back again when I come to Shanghai again

One of the best hotel I ever stayed in Shanghai. The service from the staff was really nice. The room was elegant. Shoutout to the housekeeping team, they made my room really clean everyday during my stay. The jazz bar in the hotel was also one of the best place to chill in the hotel. Definitely would recommend everyone to stay here whenever you come to Shanghai.

We recently spent 5 nights at the Fairmont Peace Hotel and the experience was beyond our expectations. We have travelled across Europe, America and Asia and have never experienced customer service like what was provided at the Peace Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful and anticipated our needs. Our room was to an exceptional standard with inclusions and cleanliness. The location of the hotel is brilliant, right on the Bund with a great view from the rooftop bar. The only negative I have was that the wifi didn't work for us a lot of the time. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay at the Fairmont Peace Hotel.

I am very intrigued by the architecture on the bund. The Peace Hotel has got to be one of the most prominent buildings with a rich history on the bund. They have a small museum within the hotel and I was led on a tour by the very knowledgeable Sherry. She walked me through the history of the hotel from when it was known as the Cathay Hotel and post 1950 when it became the Peace Hotel. The museum has the silverware, old publications and old furniture of the hotel which gives you a glimpse of its glamorous history. From state dinners to Charlie Chaplin and Marlene Dietrich, it tells the story of THE hotel in Shanghai. The hotel was once known as Sassoon House built by Sir Victor Sassoon, and still has a cafe dedicated to him in the hotel.

Checked in exhausted after F1 event, only to find: 1️⃣ Previous guest's luggage tags STILL stuck on walls 2️⃣ Mysterious holes punched in toilet paper rolls 3️⃣ Stranger's hair embedded in bedding Attempted to having a nap but: 4️⃣ AC unit started SCREAMING like a jet engine. Maintenance "fixed" it by... turning it off completely? When reporting issues discovered: 5️⃣ Found decaying chocolate leftovers from prior guest stuck to room phone 6️⃣ Staff repeatedly mispronounced my name during entire interaction After moving to new room: 7️⃣ MORE human hairs on replacement bed (Housekeeping, ever heard of vacuums?) Dining nightmares: 8️⃣ Charcoal-brick burger patty required pliers to chew - replacement took 25min 9️⃣ Random drag queen INVADED my breakfast table demanding my papaya?! Zero staff intervention. Final insult: 🔟 Pre-agreed 1PM checkout ignored with aggressive 12:20PM wake-up call Bonus fail: Zero checkout experience survey (they already knew...) This isn't hospitality - it's a circus where guests fund the chaos. Housekeeping clearly uses guests' abandoned hairbrushes as cleaning tools. Save yourself - sleep at the airport or anywhere else instead.
