Hyatt On The Bund, Shanghai

The view of outside of the window was nice, but the room was smaller than I expected. No afternoon tea was included. You might need to wait for a while for the check-in process. There are about 3-4 English channels. I hope the front desk staff could be more friendly and smile more. The hotel cleaning staff was nice and responsive.

Read the previous review, and now I can prove it right. Hotel is not ready, spa, swimming pool, club lounge is not ready for use during our stay on 12/26-12/28. I have applied "guest of honor" voucher for my family and none of the facilities are useable. Yet we did not receive any email before arrival regarding the lack of facilities (non of the suites are ready, lounge, swimming pool, gym). Upon arrival, you can see your guests sitting on the FLOOR by the Christmas tree as there are no sofas or seats at the main lobby. I told them my son's birthday is on 12/27. They said they would give him a birthday cake. Ask us whether we would like to have it on the morning or evening on 27th. End up we did not receive any cake. This is the worst Hyatt experience ever!

Not hyatt and surely not worth. Spent 4 nights and regretted. They had soft opening and literally had no breakfast. Even after I told the manager I won't have breakfast as they had no choice they literally didn't care. Emailed them as ac was not working, they changed rooms but I didn't sleep all night as was sweating and they stopped answering calls. Literally the worst staff and the worst hyatt I have ever stayed. A big no to anyone who wants to spend a good amount and regret later. Shame to the staff who made experience even more worse.

We really enjoyed the wonderful food and service, especially Angel and Tony Xu who found us a great table. Everyone was so nice and helped us with our three year old son. They made him happy and laugh so we could enjoy our evening. The food choices were plentiful and it was all fresh. Sushi and the skewers were made to order.

Overall an OK stay, but should be better in 12 months after renovations are done. Good points: + Location + The view of Pudong and the Bund from rooms + Staff is good + The construction immediately around the hotel is complete Bad points: - There is a lot of wear and tear showing in the room - large scratches on the desk etc. - Windows in room were not cleaned so it was hard to enjoy the otherwise nice view of Pudong. - The restaurant on floor 2 (Aroma ?) was very crowded for breakfast and these facilities are also in dire need of renovation Front desk mentioned one tower is already undergoing renovation, so should be better in 12 months or so.
