There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

Beautiful Resort! We spent 4 nights at the Ladera Resort for our 50th anniversary. It was perfect and exactly what we wanted. Excellent staff, delish food and the most beautiful views from every room. Plenty to do at the resort - spa, gym, game room, the Hideaway Rum Bar was fun and a wonderful hiking trail. Very helpful in planning offsite excursions, if you choose to. Sometimes we opted to just stay in our suite and enjoy drinks and the view in our private pool.

What a perfect get away! The view from my room's private pool took my breath away when I walked in and I loved feeling connected to nature, though it meant a bright moon in my room and hearing the rainstorms in the early morning. Very environmentally conscious resort, which is appreciated, since St. Lucia is so amazing because of its preserved natural beauty. Service was topnotch, just wish I had more notice U.S. cash preferred for tipping (was able to add tips to my bill at the end of the trip). Great activities and Dasheene served amazing food for the resort. Want to stay here each year.

FULL REVIEW- WORTH READING Our stay here was not what I had been looking forward too. We went for our honeymoon, I should of realized the poor corresponding in emails leading up to our stay was a red flag. The first night I couldn't get hot water for the shower and everything went downhill the first morning we woke. I was covered in bug bites, then I go to put on clothes for the day and our suitcases invested with tiny ants. We spent 2 hours shaking out all our clothes. I called reception and they told me that they can't control all the bugs and they like sweets. Our suitcases had zero food, drinks, perfumes ( all shower stuff was already in the shower). I proceeded to say they should warm guests to keep their bags closed. Not to mention they were all over the lunch tables. There meal plan is a joke, we paid 1800 US for 3 days of a "all inclusive" meal plan, to which is nearly impossible to get your monies worth in a run of a day. Half the menu isn't included, there is all kinds of rules and exclusions in the meal plan. Martinis, lobster, having more then one entree, dessert each etc would cost extra. It's far from " all inclusive", complete rip off, guess that's why they don't let you go back on it once you start seeing the fine prints and your bills. Our pool in our room had a "heater malfuction",and the fountain stopped working. The tempatures were too high to enjoy the pool and it was a day and half having maintenance in and out trying to fix it. To which once fixed took another 12 hours to cool down (we only had 4 nights there). The fountain was never fixed. There was construction work outside our room by maintenance at early morning hours and into the afternoon. The communication from reception was less then friendly, made to feel like we were the problem and constantly having to nag. To top it off we woke up on our last day ( check out day) and had ZERO water. Couldn't use the bathroom, use the sink or shower. Had to call maintenance 3 times and over an hour and half later finally heard some sounds of water , so went and checked and it was working, to which no one followed up With the amount of issues and people in and out of the room, the ants, the money greedy, little use of the pool it felt far from a honeymoon. We had another resort booked for after our stay here. "Anse Chasanet" to which they would not drive us there complimentary instead of the airport, they wanted 50 bucks ( when it was a much shorter distance to the hotel then airport). The staff from Anse Chasanet picked us up from Ladera instead of the airport, no problem, no exta charges. They made us feel valued and appreciated and took care of us, highly recommend. Only thing good to say about Ladera is the view. That place is complete rip off. Heard other guests complaining at front desk as well. Lareda staff didn't offer any form of compensation for the issues, absolutely disgusted at the service and care here

This may be the most beautiful place I've ever been! Highly recommend it, and it is worth the money for the memories. We went in off season and it was so few people there it felt like the resort was to ourselves. We afterwards went to Sandals, and it felt like a big step down, nothing against Sandals, it was just that good. Breathtaking views everywhere in the resort. Wonderful service. Kind employees. Intimate environment. On site hiking. Delicious food. Delicious cocktails. The most beautiful view on the island to wake up to from the back of the villa. They recently opened a rum bar with cellar/cave buildout that was one of my favorite experiences - the bartender provided rum flights from across the Caribbean that were the most delicious rum flavors, you will not find in the states, and we were provided expert details from her experience traveling the Carribbean (and world) for 10 years on a cruise ship. What a memorable stay!

We had our 20th wedding anniversary coming up and we wanted to find a very special place for its celebration. The destination was Ladera resort in St. Lucia. Once I saw the pictures and videos of that resort, I literally lost my sleep! It was everything we were dreaming about! Would it be just as special in real life as it was advertised on their website?! We were about to discover! The minute we got there and till the minute we left it was a WAW moment! From the paradise-like grounds with lots of flowers and humming birds everywhere to a breathtaking view from our own room - it was unbelievably beautiful, well maintained and spotless place! The staff is so friendly! Not only they would say 'Hello' to you, but also would ask you 'How was your breakfast? Dinner? Trip to the beach, etc.' We are common travelers and have been to a lot of countries and resorts by now, but this one was extra special! It gives you an impression that it is constantly improving, adding on features, spas, entertainment, etc. It feels 'alive'! You can tell that the management of this resort does care of it wellbeing! They are coming up with some wonderful ideas of improvement (their current spa project that is on a go for example!). Unfortunately we had a very short stay - 4 days only - and didn't even have a chance to explore it all. We were told that they have a really cool Treehouse on one of their hikes and a yoga place, which unfortunately we didn't make to see for ourselves. Well, perhaps next time?! The resort doesn't have access to the beach (it is located up in the mountains), however they do provide a free shuttle to 2 different beaches. They do have a public pool as well as private pools in every(?)/most of their rooms. That was such a NICE thought! I cannot recall how many times we were in and out of our private pool in the room! LOL The pool was heated when we needed to warm up and provided a necessary cooling on some hot days. It was absolutely wonderful! All in all - we are so happy we did go! We would strongly recommend it! Warm THANK YOU to all the staff and management of this resort!

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
