Set within the Christophe Harbor development on Banana Bay in the most natural and untouched region of this beautiful island, Park Hyatt St. Kitts, a luxury resort, introduces the unparalleled Park Hyatt experience for discerning leisure travelers and incentive groups to this idyllic dream destination in the West Indies. The resort spans the entire width of Banana Bay, one of the island's most beautiful golden sand beaches. The former Plantations are the inspiration behind the design of the Hotel and this is reflected throughout the Resort. The accommodations are chic in design, spacious with some suites featuring individual roof top swimming pools with spectacular views of the neighboring island, Nevis.

We arrived at the Park Hyatt and were pleasantly greeted by the bell staff and then a warm smiling welcome from front desk attendant Michael Kelly. Check in was fast and friendly with a rum punch and a golf cart ride to show us around the beautiful property. We thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed our time and the staff. What a beautiful property!! Thanks again for the rescue dinner reservation from Michael when we realized that we hadn’t made dinner plans. Park Hyatt and their guests are lucky to have Michael! We look forward to a future visit!

We went to the hotel in what I would consider the off season given it was early November. Despite the time of year, the room rate was over $800 per night before taxes and fees, and after taxes and fees over $1000/night. For reference, we went to the hotel for 2 days after saying at the Four Seasons in neighboring Nevis for 3 nights. Our rate at the Four Seasons was pretty comparable, so for the price, I was expecting a comparable experience but it wasn’t that. Here are some things that I wish someone had told me since I was expecting a luxury hotel given the Park Hyatt brand and room rate: - Check in: We arrived at the hotel around 12:30. Check in was a little slow but fine. Our room was not ready which was also fine, we didn't need to change or anything since we came from Nevis, we just wanted to eat lunch. Someone offered to bring us around the resort in a golf cart. We asked to see the different places available for lunch given we just got there and didn't know anything about the property. We were told the only place was the general pool and couldn’t really get an answer if we could also order at the adult pool or if there was a beach restaurant. The person got overwhelmed and dropped us off where they serve breakfast which was closed. We then walked with all of our stuff over to the Fisherman’s Cove restaurant which was next to the check in by the lobby to eat and basically on the beach which is all we had been asking. We were obviously willing to overlook what was a misunderstanding but that is just where the issues started - The Property - While the property is overall nice, the rooms are very spread out in these individual green small tower buildings so fair amount of walking. There is a central large pool, a very small adult pool and a very small beach. The pool has sand around it with a pool bar. It seemed potentially more catered to kids, and overall felt a little more like Disney world to me than a luxury hotel - The rooms - The rooms are fine, they are small and clean but somewhat sparsely appointed, maybe what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. We were upgraded to an ocean view room which was nice - The beach - This is where they really lost me. The beach is small and covered in seaweed as they clearly do not clean it. It maybe has ~20 chairs and despite the fact that you are forced to pay a $60/day resort fee, there is no beach service. The chairs are old, metal and completely rusting / peeling. There is no beach service and no one to set them up for you, you have to walk over to a hut and get your own towels and lay them out, which by the way are threadbare and ripping. There is someone who comes around to offer you drinks but maybe every 1-2 hours, the service is very minimal. Again, would be totally fine if we weren’t paying $1000/night. Would have expected more from what is advertised as a luxury hotel, I’m actually not sure I have been to any hotel anywhere near this price range where there is no beach attendants - Service - the service was generally lackluster. We asked people for directions around the resort that they couldn’t seem to provide (I asked someone where the adult pool was and they had no idea). Generally when ordering lunch etc, it felt like the staff was annoyed that we were there. This didn't apply to everyone, but just the overall vibe. The bartender at Fisherman’s Cove during happy hour and the woman in the coffee shop were both great and my favorite people I interacted with during my stay - Food options & cost: I felt like there wasn’t much offered or much variety and all of the food and drinks were expensive (keep in mind we had just come from the Four Seasons where I didn't feel nearly as ripped off). Breakfast was good and luckily included with our room as otherwise the buffet for 2 was ~$150. The Fisherman’s Cove menu for lunch is fine but just lacking what someone might want on a hot day, there are ~2 salads, a hamburger, a fried fish and then some larger mains like grilled mahi or braised oxtail. If we were there for more than 2 days we would have run out of options. Also, I ordered a margarita with Teremana tequila which cost $30 before the 12% tax and 18% service charge. My drinks in New York City are cheaper. Just all felt a little much and like you were getting up charged everywhere, especially given the rest of the experience I should note that we voiced these concerns at checkout, they comped a lunch of ours and gave us a $75 credit which was very kind, but I still wish I had not spent $1100 per night since I know what I got for a similar price nearby. Overall, its not necessarily a bad hotel and had it been less we might have been OK (or decided to stay somewhere else since the price might indicate experience) but I wish I knew what I was getting for the price

Hosted a small conference at this Resott and was very pleased. Rooms were very comfortable, location was excellent, food was delicious, pools were amazing, and banquet staff went above and beyond. Our guests had an amazing time and everyone was thrilled.

We had such an amazing experience. The property is beautiful- and a true oasis- and the views are spectacular! The service at the pool bar was amazing- Chantel took the best care of us! The rooms were clean and the property was picturesque- we can’t wait to return!

My Park Hyatt stay with my family was excellent! It far exceeded my expectations! Even though only 1 of their restaurants were open at the time of our stay, everything we got on their menu was very delicious! :) Our room had an exceptional view like no other. We went in their off-season and it was like we had the resort to ourselves! We will definitely be staying here again! :) We had a great tour guide who took us all around the island giving us the history of it at well. He took us on a rainforest hike, to Brimstone Hill and to their shopping town. If you are looking for the best tour guide around, reasonably priced, ask for Leroy “Billy” Liburd. He is well known around town! :)
