Palais de Chine

This hotel is a big surprise. Brilliantly located beside the Main station. From outside it looks like part of the shopping centre, but once inside, one is transported into Taiwan meets Europe. Older style lovely building bursting with antiques and quirks. Staff are very nice and efficient. After wonderful days prowling Taipei, we spent our down time up in the Executive/ club lounge to relax. Very clever consideration has gone into the drinks selection here. Each night a different set of Spirits are set out, plus the usual, with a focus on some local made. Polly Pan , who clearly loves her job here, was always on hand to talk us through the selections on offer, or general advice. She has us converted to Taiwan made Gin and whiskey. Polly also makes a perfect cup of tea. Love this Hotel and hope to be back.

Rarely do I leave reviews but did want to share as I came for my honeymoon and my experience at Palais de Chine was exceptional. Without a doubt you can understand why this is a 5 star experience. In particular I want to highlight the Conceirge Assistant Manager Ken Tso who was so kind and nice and went above and beyond. Thank you for making our experience top notch

The hotel has a very good location near the Taipei Train Main Station and beside the Q Square Mall. This hotel is a sure win if you decide to stay. Very clean and the service is excellent. Kudos to Mr. Webber and all the hotel staffs . Concierge and front desk are very helpful. They even assisted us with all the packing requirements that we needed last minute from Scissors , Packing tapes and rope…. I will surely be back and recommend to Friends , Family and colleagues.

We had a wonderful stay at the Palais de Chine hotel over the new year period. The facilities were top notch, and our room was beautiful with some great amenities and comforts (the bath tub was much appreciated after a long visit to the night markets). My partner loved the Salon and its views, and I really cannot say enough good things about the breakfast buffet (what better way to beat the jetlag than to wake up excitedly for the braised pork rice). Webber helped us on a number of occasions during our stay, and his advice was a large part of why we were able to successfully coordinate a viewing of Taipei 101 during the New Year fireworks. Great service, great location and lovely staff. We look forward to visiting again in future.

The room fit out was impeccable (the sliding cupboard door between the room and bathroom is quirky). There are sensors which switch on relevant lights if you are shuffling about in the room in the dark. The glass bottles of water in the room are refillable at the water stay on the floor. The buffet breakfast includes Movenpick ice cream (if you are so inclined to start your day with this), and the broth used for the freshly made to order noodles is simply delicious. It would have been great to have more experienced staff at check in to answer questions and also be able to communicate more comfortably with travellers who don’t speak Chinese. Thanks to Webber Cheng for his kind consideration on our last day. It is a handy location to the main train station and shopping malls.
