My first trip to Taiwan was made special by the amazing team at Palais De Chine, namely Ken Tso, Alfon, and Mike Huang among the other front desk and concierge team. Ken Tso went above and beyond to provide my partner and I recommendations on the local delicacies and attractions, all the way down to maps and hand drawn directions and best times to visit. However, it's his attentiveness and ability to provide tailored suggestions based on my vague preferences that shine him in a special light. Alfon was the front desk who checked me in and was pleasant and accommodating to a weary traveller, and also provided immediate recommendations for dinner. Lovely welcome to the PDC. Mike also provided recommendations via a physical letter to the room with detailed locations; my first time encountering this type of service and a very nice touch. He also sent us off with a little farewell gift and a handwritten note which is greatly appreciated. All in all, my stay at PDC was great and made possible by the lovely staff. <3 <3 <3

I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. Other than the location is quite convenient (near Taipei Main Station and next to Q Square Mall), this hotel deserves only 3 stars max. We never experienced any cockroach in hotel stays, even some hotels 3 stars will not have this. We thought this is 5 stars, pictures look fancy, and recommended by Sonic Tourist Travel Agency. We paid extra 1 night so upon arrival Taipei we can check in shower immediately. Our 1st day arrival hotel room has cockroach in our room on shower floor. I was about getting ready to shower, start my itinerary, and saw this. We contacted front desk immediately and waited long time for someone came and waited long time for room change. After the change, the room was bigger, however, the face sink wash is clogged- water can't really drain (super slow), water pressure in the big rounded bathtub is weak, and most stressful thing is their LED Switch lights on off - We pressed almost every button to have lights turn on in certain areas only, and even you pressed all, some lights not on. I never experienced any LED Switch lights so difficult to manage. It ruined my half day. If I call them again and wait another hour or 2, basically waste my whole day that almost 3pm checkin time. I tried to dispute the amount of stay, at least refund 50% back with this kind of quality, Lucy Huang 黃郁淳 Guest relations Manager 顧客關係經理 emailed me back without any offer for this refund. I need to contact my credit card company again to let them know their response. This was also my bachelorette trip. I had a very bad experience at this 5 stars hotel. Please DO NOT STAY here. Their customer service is terrible. Don't let their online pictures, advertisements, and decorations trick you. I highly recommend stay at MGH Mitsui Hotel Taipei - this is Japanese hotel, and very clean, and free water bottles unlimited every day you go up the floor get it yourself. We regret for trying new hotel like this one.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel from 31 March - 3 April 2025. Lucy at the reception recommended the upgrade and we got to use the hospitality lounge and free breakfast. Patty Liu at the Concierge helped us draw up a plan to visit a tea plantation and a Tea Museum about an hour away from Taipei. The guided tour at the Tea Museum was a nice surprise. Patty also suggested that we use the overnight order service at the hotel to purchase the famous pineapple shortcake. We placed the order before 5 pm the day before and delivery was made to the hotel at 9 am the next day! Very efficient! The shortcakes were delicious by the way. Thank you Patty. The hotel is located next to a shopping mall, the MRT and train station. The interior of the hotel is mostly dark panel wood, dark curtains, mirrors and chandeliers.

Stayed here 4 nights. Great location right next to Taipei main train and bus station that connect to other cities and the airport. Also next to a shopping mall with underground shopping streets. 10 min walk to NingXia night market and lots of food and amenities within 5 min walking distance. Room is cozy and spacious, toilet design is unique without door and the shower area is closed with a thick shower curtain. King bed is huge can sleep 3 adults. Service is impeccable and buffet breakfast is really delicious with variety of local and international food. Overall highly recommended.

Lots of great things about this hotel, but with a few odd architectural choices. The rooms are spacious and there's a very good-sized work desk. Decent armchair with footstool. The bathroom consists of separate toilet and shower which are basically within the room although they can be curtained off. A large round bath is included but seems to be neither bath nor spa. Bed was OK if rather firm, with plenty of pillows. As mentioned elsewhere the hotel has been done in very dark wood. This makes the lobby, and the reception (which is on the 6th floor), really gloomy. Perhaps the designer thought it made the place look elegant or up-market, but now it just looks dated and everything is...well, gloomy. The main irritation was the AI machine which allowed you to control the various aspects of the room. It only responds to voice command about half the time. It randomly turns itself on and off - even when no-one is near it during the night. If you manage to get it to turn all the lights off, you then have to stumble your way in the dark back to the bed! Again, someone's idea which really doesn't work as it should. Great proximity to the main station, MRT and Q Square. Recommended with caveats.
