Conversational murmurs and tinkling piano rise through the atrium, shouts of laughter accenting the melody. Joy understood in any language. There’s a sense of intrigue here that is impossible to place, much like Taipei itself: a melting-pot metropolis infused with Chinese, Japanese and Western influences, where Taoist temples stand next to gleaming skyscrapers and hot springs steam the base of the Tatun volcano group, a mere 15 km. (9 miles) north of the city.

We really enjoyed this hotel, especially being in a Taipan room, so good to use the lounge. The only thing we found was that the mattress was super hard and not at all comfortable for us. The location was great and the views were excellent. We especially enjoyed the food served in the Taipan lounge.

This hotel has to be six star honestly because it was serious lol. The rooms were huge, the bathrooms were all marble, the rooftop pool was sensations, it had a high fashion shopping mall underneath, a seven eleven conveniently nearby, a gym and spa in the basement and a bar/restaurant in the top floor. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms have actual keys instead of the electric key cards which was a nice novelty touch

Bathrooms are outdated and horrible thick caulking. Tub looked dirty. Location was great though! Lobby and driveway had random uneven sloping surfaces that caused my child to trip. They literally have staff standing around telling people to “watch their step”.

We stayed at the property last December for four nights. I loved the surrounding area, trendy, a little busy but not to the extent of Ximending. A lot of eateries and shopping centers around. The building in which the hotel is located has a few luxury brand stores such as Gucci and Bvlgari. We arrived very late, around 11PM. Check in was quick and efficient. There was not anybody who helped with the luggage, but the bell service people were available during the normal business hours of 7AM-22PM. We saw the grand Christmas tree that Regent Taipei was famous for. There was a Santa meet and greet session where you could queue up for, if anybody is interested. We booked a 2 queen bed balcony room. The room was HUGE! The corridor from the lift to the room felt dated but the room was modern and furnished nicely and very comfortable (I do not know whether the room has been recently refurbished). The bathroom was large, and the toilet came with a bidet. The bed was great, the pillows were heavenly and the linen felt fresh and clean. The living room area was great. But the balcony was really small and a little pointless. The room was also very very quiet which was a great PLUS for a light sleeper like myself. Overall, an incredible stay.

I stayed for 4 nights in their Premium room (with a balcony). The room was very spacious and luxurious, with a large bathroom and a separate walk-in robe/ dressing area. There was also a cozy day bed near the balcony where you can laze around. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk from Zhongshan station and shopping malls. Zhongshan station has great connections to all the key sights in Taipei and Taiwan's High Spped Rail (located within the Taipei Main Station). I also tried their spa, which was good, but the times indicated in their services menu included 30 minutes of shower/ steam. I found this a bit odd. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
