The hotel is well situated. I will give it that firstly we are Titanium members, and lifetime, platinum members, but they don’t recognize that status at all.buffet Breakfast was pretty good. I have to say the concierge asking for directions or restaurant recommendations. They are very very inexperienced not to mention not very knowledgeable definitely that department needs major training. Would not go back again

Stayed at W Taipei for four days. Great location, super accessible to shopping malls and metro. Services were always on spot but the breakfast session was usually crowd and had to queue before getting seated. Would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again next time.

Check-in: The check-in process felt a bit rushed, with minimal acknowledgment of our upgraded room. It would have been nice to feel a bit more welcomed, especially as Marriott Gold members. They just gave us the papers of gold members and Amex platinum and that was it. Yen Restaurant – Disappointing Experience: Unfortunately, our lunch experience at Yen was not pleasant. We informed our waiter about our Marriott Gold membership and the 20% discount, but it was never applied. When we followed up, he told us to request it at check-out at end of our stay We then spoke to the restaurant manager or some sort (Lady with short hair pinkish/reddish hair) hoping to clarify the discount, but her attitude was dismissive once she learned we also had an Amex $100 dining voucher. She said we could only use one offer—not both—which we understood, but we had wanted to save the $100 voucher for a later visit and instead use the 20% discount. Despite that, she insisted we had to use the voucher now. She was very much condescending in our conversation and had a very fake smile to us. Please beware of her. When we asked what our options were, her tone was condescending, and she seemed visibly annoyed, as if we were wasting her time. We can pay for credit card and bypass room charge… so that seem to annoyed her. Overall, a disappointing interaction and not the level of service we expect from a high-end restaurant hotel. Rooms: The rooms are sleek and modern but not always practical in design. On the plus side, water bottles are refilled daily, which we appreciated. Hotel Layout: The lobby is on the 10th floor, which means taking one elevator from the ground level, then transferring to another elevator to reach your room. It can be a bit of a hassle. Location: Fantastic location—right across from SOGO Mall and Breeze Center. Probably also one of the most expensive hotel nearby. We also stayed at the Grand Hyatt last week, which was in another great location across from Taipei 101. While the rooms there are a bit dated, the price point was likely more affordable. Breakfast: Unfortunately, the breakfast here ranks among our least favorite in Taipei. For comparison, Shangri-La offered a much more impressive and enjoyable breakfast buffet. Overall Service: Thus far, we’ve been a bit let down by the service. Staff interactions feel forced, especially during breakfast and our visit to Yen. The warmth and hospitality that usually define luxury hotel stays seem to be missing.

This stay was spent with my partner to celebrate the New Year, and we chose W Hotel for its direct view of Taipei 101. From the moment we checked in, we felt the warmth of the hotel staff. An employee escorted us to our room and provided an introduction, and they had prepared champagne and macarons for us, which made us feel very welcomed. Due to the high number of guests on New Year's Eve, the hotel provided wristbands for easier entry and exit, and there was security stationed at the entrance, which made us feel safe. Watching the New Year's fireworks from the hotel was absolutely beautiful; the only downside was that a nearby building slightly obstructed our view, but overall, it didn't affect our experience. The only minor downside was the hotel’s high price, especially for staying on New Year's Eve, but everything else was perfect.
