Reviews for Conrad Tokyo

Exceptional Hotel & First Class Experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I had a truly exceptional experience at this hotel! As a Hilton Gold member, I was upgraded to a wonderful King Bay View room which was incredibly large and had stunning views. The room was very well appointed, and I found a personal note from the GM, Mr. Neil McInnes along with a welcome gift. The room had its signature Conrad bear and duck as well. The hotel went above and beyond for me, accommodating me in their wonderful spa with access to the sauna and steam room in the afternoon after my checkout. The entire staff was exceptional throughout my stay. Shout out to both Rudra Patil and Shun from the bell desk who took great care of me, and provided me with bubble wrap to ensure that nothing broke inside my luggage. The breakfast, complimentary for Gold members, had a wide selection of high quality food and beverage items, and the staff was very attentive and kind. The bar had a wide array of specialty cocktails and drinks, as well as snacks and small bites. My stay was truly first class all around, which is a testament to the wonderful GM, and I very much look forward to returning!

5-Star Family Vacay in Conrad Tokyo!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This has been the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The service was top notch, the room was immaculate and spacious, and best of all, the daily breakfast was super delicious. So many different breakfast options and they even took our special order because our daughter wanted omurice. It was a 5-star treatment from check-in, daily room make-up to breakfast and check-out. Will definitely love to come back to Conrad Tokyo!

Very enjoyable stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I had fairly high expectations for this stay, and the hotel generally met them. We booked the Twin Room City room (their standard room) and stayed in this room for the first of the 5 nights, but were upgraded to Twin Bay view room on the next day because I’m Hilton Gold. It’s the same size and layout as the City view room, but the experience in our view is VASTLY different. Not only are the bay views absolutely spectacular, but the room is way way brighter on that side because you don’t have other tall buildings right next door blocking the light. The room was large and well laid out. We very much appreciated the floor to ceiling windows with a huge chase lounge in front of it. My wife spent a lot of time on that lounge while we were resting in the room or waiting out the rain. The Twin beds are really equivalent to the US double size beds. I find this to be the case at all luxury hotels in Japan so far, and find it very confusing (why call them Twin?). It may be because, unlike the US, there is no single uniform size for Twin/Single beds in the Japan hotels. The beds in the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay were noticeably smaller than the Conrad Tokyo and Conrad Osaka beds, though still wider than the US Twin beds. Anyway, the beds were somewhat too hard for our taste, but that’s a common problem in Japan and Europe. This was the only real negative of this stay. The room had a Nespresso machine with plentiful capsules. As always at nice Japanese hotels, nice fine bone china cups were provides, as well as different tea cups. The bathroom had plentiful countertop space with twin vanities. I don’t get why some people are bothered by the window to the room It makes the bathroom nice and bright during the day, and the electric blinds can fully close the window for privacy. The shower is spectacular with amazing water pressure from the rainfall shower head or the hand shower. Showers are always a fantastic highlight in Japan at most hotels. The closet had plenty of hanging space and drawers. Just like all other Japanese 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed at in our two trips, the hotel was as quiet as a vault, unlike the typical US hotel where you constantly hear and feel doors slamming and people talking and yelling. Part of it is cultural, even my fellow Americans are keeping their voices down in the hallway. But it’s mostly about better design and soundproofing. Because this hotel was built in the early 2000’s, it’s not as modern and nice as the Conrad Osaka that we visited on the same trip, but still very nice. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which was completely free to us as Hilton Honors Gold elite. The selection was wide, and the quality was excellent. I typically ordered a couple of eggs from the kitchen the way I like them, and they came out pretty fast. I then added potatoes, bacon, sausage and fruit from the buffet. On one of the days there was a seemingly long line to breakfast, but we were seated within 5-10 minutes. On other nights, there was no line at all. They have two huge dining rooms for breakfast. We also ate one night at the hotel’s Kazahana Japanese restaurant. My wife had a traditional Japanese multi-corse meal and I had grilled pork with rice dish. My pork was spectacular. My wife’s multi-corse meal was nice but not as nice as what we had at The Okura Tokyo on our last trip. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would be happy to come back to this hotel if the nightly rate is reasonable. We got great value from our Hilton points redemptions because of the 5th night free perk. But if the rate was $500-700 a night, we would select The Okura without a second thought. For the same price, the rooms are bigger, way more luxurious, and the food is better.

Right by the Shimbashi Station

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is our go to hotel whenever we go to Tokyo. It's either Andaz in Toranomon Hills, the Grand Hyatt in Ropponggi or this Conrad in Minato. Location is good, close by Ginza and Shimbashi station. Lots of food choices in Shimbashi Station. Very convenient from Haneda. The hotel is not too new by now, but it is very well kept.
