One of the city’s most luxurious hotels superbly located in Yurakucho, opposite the Imperial Palace and Hibiya Park, The Peninsula Tokyo offers commanding views of the Japanese capital skyline. The Hotel is within minutes' walk of the shopping capital of Ginza and Shinbashi. What sets the Peninsula Tokyo apart from other international luxury hotels is its focus on creating a modern Japanese ambience, whereas other hotels adopt a standard international décor. The Peninsula Tokyo’s interior and exterior is contemporary, yet echoes Japan’s rich heritage and culture in its design. The Peninsula Tokyo pampers its guests with a spa center and a fitness club with a swimming pool and sun loungers, overlooking the Imperial Palace Gardens. Ryokan-inspired rooms are simple and streamlined, designed with the idea of "techno-ergonomic-user-friendly", so every control and switch is located precisely where it is required so its use is intuitive and effortless. The granite and cherry wood bathrooms with large soaking tubs will make your stay a pleasant relax.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Easy access to everything in town. Loved the spa and all its amenities. Amazing high tea with incredible artistic sweet and savory foods. My room was excellent. Very comfortable, amazing room service. Loved the laundry delivery service. Absolutely loved the all inclusive breakfast each morning. I’ll be dreaming about that berry compote Japanese pancake! Loved the orchestra music, the in-house restaurants and shops. It was an excellent time and all the staff were so accommodating, knowledgeable and kind. Thank you and this Arizona, USA Lady will definitely be back!!

Our room was beautiful, the staff was warm, welcoming and attentive, and the location was ideal for walking around Ginza. The Concierge couldn’t do enough to make our trip memorable. He booked car services, restaurant reservations and made great recommendations. Our daily breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the upstairs bar.

Great doormen and welcome staff. The only upsides to this hotel. Kohei who checked us in was cold and aloof. None of the other staff ever smiled. He fumbled on the computer for a long time before he could get back to us. This is dissappointing and no one showed us to our rooms. Almost all the guests were foreign so that explains why there was no omotenashi. We didn’t feel like we were in Japan. The lobby was also tiny and constantly filled with people. The room was set on lowest temperture possible and it was extremely cold entering. It was freezing. I asked for a quiet room on a higher floor weeks in advance to which they replied yes. I was given neither a high-floor nor quiet room. It was on the tenth floor (total 23) and very close to the elevator. The soundproof was awful and outside noises are clearly heard. The decor was tacky and tasteless in spite of it’s age. It also has not aged well. Bathroom was badly designed and sink was very small. The toilet reeked of urine. Towels, bathrobes and slippers are subpar. Beddings are just OK. There was no bluetooth anywhere and no kettle. Room service spaghetti was also cold and stuck together. Very small portions. Food was obscenely overpriced and the service was amateur. A ¥4000 egg white “omelet” ended up being literally egg foams that tasted like absolutely nothing. Needless to say, I was baffled and more hungry after it. I ordered a side of bacon afterwards and there were like only four tiny pieces… Good god. Sashimi bowl for lunch was also measly and not very fresh. In the end after my complaint, they did move us to a better room to which I am appreciative for. Their attitude and tone was also much improved. The room was quiter than the previous one, however, it does face the street and is on the eighth floor so sounds of cars can still be heard.

I was back at The Peninsula for the first time in 6 years and wow! The hotel Toyota picked us up at the airport. Seamless. On arrival at the hotel, check in staff met us and led us straight to the room, checked us in in record time. And the room - standard room, but huge. Somewhat showing its age in that it has a fax machine and a lot of analogue switches controlling the window shades etc but it’s a fabulous room. Bathroom and walk in closet huge. And laundry! 24 hrs, no need to fill out a form - just out laundry in bag, place in valet and press button. Hours later, clean laundry. The room is flawless- I can’t think of a better one. And the staff - truly amazing. Can’t do enough for you. Location is great - right by the Imperial Gardens. I think this hotel has aged incredibly well - it’s better than when I first stayed 10 years ago. Shout out to our amazing driver - she drove us all day to our meetings in the aforementioned Toyota. And it was flawless.

From the time you arrive to the time you depart, you’re special. And this hotel (for the glitz and price) is located perfectly a few steps into Ginza. It’s not only how grand and modern and beautiful this hotel is. It’s the luxury and service and pamper that’s bespoke of the quality of the Peninsula chain. The rooms are huge. I appreciate the upgrade to a Premier room, which meant, I was facing a beautiful view of the Imperial Garden each morning. But their standard room had a whole dressing room all to itself. The bath tub was divine. The rooms are also full in terms of amenities. They didn’t scrimp! In reality, you didn’t even need to bring toiletries when you book at the Peninsula Tokyo. You just had to literally get checked in. And the food was marvelous. I enjoyed most of all the Chinese restaurant Hei Fung Terrace. Fantastic dishes and service. I can write about this hotel and try to find fault in some way, but I have never fallen in love with a hotel the same way the Tokyo Peninsula has made me feel. I will definitely be back.
