Reviews for Hotel Imperial Vienna

A Six Star Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

From the moment you enter the from door and enter the lobby you are transported to another world where service and satisfaction to the guests is, and remains, priority #1. If Vienna did not have so many great things to see and do, a stay at the Hotel Imperial would be a vacation in and of itself. No detail is too small to be overlooked in ensuring every guest does not just have a stay, but rather an experience. As a guest, it is easy to think that such excellence is a force of nature like the sun and the rain. It is not. It is because of the dedication and hard work of the staff/team that work in the Hotel Imperial: and i mean from the doorman who first greets you, to the cleaning staff, to the people who welcome you at the front desk at check in. So, in this regard we would like to mention a few people by name, who again, made our recent stay a most memorable one: the chief concierge, Mr. Dieter Ludewig, and his colleagues at the front desk, Ms. Sonja al-Jarrah, Ms. Claudia Steinmetz, Mr. Rafael Schuster, and the head of guest relations, Mr. Attila Sallai. And a special shout out goes to Ms. Ruth Malaev, the chief of guest reservations. Thank you all. Everything you did for us is most appreciated. See you next time.

One of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This hotel was amazing! The room we stayed in was gorgeous! It was definitely one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Especially for a European city hotel. The room was unbelievably quiet. The pillows and bed were so comfortable. I slept better in this hotel than I sleep in my own bed at home. The room was so spacious. There was plenty of room for my husband, daughter, and I to spread out. My daughter was on a rollaway bed, and it was quite large and comfy. They gave us fresh water bottles every day which was no nice given all of the walking we did throughout the city. The location was a short walk from all of the best sites. We did not have time to enjoy the breakfast in the cafe downstairs but on our last day they made us a little takeaway package of danish for our road-trip which was so nice! I would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Luxury Hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We stayed a week at the Imperial and loved every minute of it! From walking into the grand lobby of the hotel, to the friendly greeting we received from the front desk staff and our very comfortable room. We spent most evenings in the gorgeous Imperial Bar. We cannot thank Lydia's team (which consists of Alex, Gaston, Victoria, Dimitri and Friederike), enough for their attentiveness, quality drinks and friendly conversations! I loved the tour of the hotel and learned a lot about the history of this beautiful palace. I feel bad about not getting the name of the concierge that took us on the tour, but he was super friendly and very knowledgeable!! The only area for improvement would be the housekeeping dept. I felt that several things were missed throughout the week, but they were minor details and definitely did not change my opinion of this fabulous hotel. Thank you!

Fantastic stay!

Stayed 2 nights, it was so great: it’s everything you want a luxury hotel to be: a lot of history, beautiful palace, professional staff, quiet location, and at the same time only 5 min walking distance from the Opera House, fantastic atmosphere, Michelin 2024 Café Imperial offers a great food and service. There is also a gourmet restaurant, I didn’t have a chance to go to. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed my stay! Highly, highly recommended! Thank you so much!

ROBBERY - DISAPPOINTING

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My recent stay at the Imperial Hotel Vienna (March 9th, 2025) turned into a nightmare when my handbag was stolen while dining at one of their restaurants. The bag contained all my personal documents, money, and essential belongings, with losses amounting to approximately 4,000 euros. As a business executive, this security breach had severe consequences. I was forced to postpone important meetings and spent time trying to obtain emergency documentation just to leave the country. The only security warning was a small sign in German - no English version in an international hotel of this caliber. The most disappointing aspect was the hotel's response. It took them almost a month to reply, and when they did, it was dismissive and showed no genuine concern for a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member's situation. No compensation was offered, not even a sincere apology for the inconvenience. For a hotel of this category and reputation, the lack of adequate security measures and their subsequent handling of the incident is unacceptable. What should have been a business trip turned into a traumatic experience that affected both my personal and professional life. Future guests should be aware of these security concerns and the hotel's apparent indifference when incidents occur. I'm certain they will now provide a 'nice' public response to this review, just as they wash their hands of any real responsibility.
