I am currently staying at this wonderful hotel and I cannot believe the negative reviews! This is an amazing boutique hotel- granted it's not on the beach, but what makes it so amazing is how quiet and chill it is. This place exemplifies laid back Hawaii- and the views are absolutely stunning. We are really relaxing here. The pool and spa are so beautiful, the rooms super comfortable and clean (idk about the review saying there's no housekeeping- our room is beautifully serviced daily) and the staff is amazing- friendly, attentive, they remember your name etc. Every staff member with whom we've interacted has been phenomenal. I hope you get greeted by the gregarious and sweet Tisha at check in, like we did. She was awesome! What really sets this place apart is that it feels like your own private boutique hotel. This morning I asked the front desk attendant what it's like when it's busy and he said "this is it- we're at almost 100 percent capacity." I was floored. It feels like there's no one here! I'm a Marriott Titanium member and I've stayed at Marriott branded hotels throughout the world and while yes breakfast could be free instead of discounted, and drinks are on the expensive side, I wouldn't let that keep you from staying here. It's the same thing at every other hotel in the area. Everything in this part of Maui is overpriced. You should expect to pay more when you come here regardless of where you stay. So in summary, if you're looking for a small, laid back, relaxed hotel with beautiful amenities, excellent service and friendly staff I would highly recommend the AC!

The hotel was nice, quiet and clean but not worth the price, even for Wailea. Not even close. We were there 3 nights without the room being serviced. I finally called and learned that I was set to have linens changed being it was 3 days. I think even Motel 6 has daily maid service. We had their $30 breakfast which was grossly overpriced. They need to either lower the cost or improve what they offer. The bar and pool were very nice which is why I booked my stay here. I had been to the bar on previous trips. Overall, I would not choose AC Hotel Wailea again. Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei was just as nice (except for the bar) and nearly half the price. And it had free parking vs $30/night at AC Hotel. I just hope this saves someone from making the same expensive mistake I did.

At this price range, you would expect a grand hotel resort, but you are really getting an upscale motel experience. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere at this price range. There are many better places to stay. The room was clean, but it felt like it was designed for a nice motel. We were told that our room had a "garden view," but for the life of me, I still don't know where that "garden" was located. Our room view was of a 2-lane highway and grass. In addition, I could easily hear every car that drove by with the doors and windows closed. The pool made good use of a small space, but was facing the parking lot. Why didn't they want the pool to face the beach? The hotel is not really close to anything. As you check in, they tell you the beach is only 15-20 minutes away. Most hotels at this price range are next to or very close to the beach. The staff seemed annoyed by any questions. They make you sign a paper stating that you will pay for parking, which I did not experience at other locations we stayed at. Overall, this place is just a mediocre or poor experience. If you are using Marriott points, spend a little more to upgrade to a much nicer hotel.

Water but no coffee or tea in the lobby No place in the bathroom or in the room where to hang towels or a swim suit No luggage racks Pathetic food, seems like every Asian dish had the dame disgusting teriyaki sauce (we were lucky that Matteo's Restaurant was next door) A $20 glass of wine that tasted worse than a $10 bottle from Trade Joe's Neglected gym, not even wipes to clean equipment Broken pedal on a Peloton bike that didn't even have an accessory to put a phone or water bottle Views of the Parking lot/pool from most of the rooms

I booked through the Bonvoy app, then cancelled because booking.com had a better price. When I got there for check in, I was told my reservation was cancelled. I said that I paid the full price and that I saw the charge deducted from my checking account. The woman (Manager? She was dressed differently, more formally than other front desk staff.) said I need to take it up with booking.com because she wasn't showing me in the system. I called booking.com and they had to call the hotel. They reached the woman and she found my reservation, but she blamed me by saying, "I asked if it was under a different name. It was under your first name, not your last name." My first name is Myly, my last name is Posse. Two unusual names. Wouldn't that be the first thing you checked? The next morning, we woke up looking for the coffee maker. There wasn't one in the room. I looked up amenities to confirm that there should be one and the website included it as part of the amenities. Went to the front desk to explain we didn't have a coffee maker in the room and could we get some coffee? I was told the coffee place didn't open until 6 or 6:30, can't remember the exact time, but the front desk woman-not the manager--went in the back and brought us back two cups of coffee. She charged us for them. I know we were up early on California time, but I wouldn't have had to bug the front desk if the coffee maker was in our room. Nevertheless, we were penalized for their error. Other than that, the staff was friendly. The room and beds were comfortable. The infinity pool was sublime. This is definitely a well located hotel for walkers if you don't mind about 10 - 15 minutes to get to shops and beaches, and the trek back is uphill.
