Single most luxurious trip ever with the utmost gracious service. The perfect blend of genuine friendliness and being pampered that is just not normal life. What a special treat! Don’t miss dinning at The Lafayette for breakfast, lunch or diner. All were a treat. Best way to start a day.

Friends were here celebrating their birtnday. Collectively we had about 15 rooms. The general view of the group was that the hotel is tired and overpriced. We were assured they could accommodate early arrival and late checkout. Most of us had to wait until 2 or 3 for our rooms. Disappointing, but I get it. It's "if possible." The last day, we were told that we could check out at 2. We got back from lunch at 1:00. Our key was disabled already. I went to the front desk to find a snippy, rude front desk minion. He said, "well mistakes happen," with an unnecessary smug smirk. I said, "for a $3000 suite, it would be nice if the damned key wasn't switched off." He scolded me for my use of the word "damned," which these days is a pretty mild epithet. I rephrased it, "for a $3000 suite, it would be nice if the key was not disabled." He got very sarcastic, and said, "if you disrespect me, I disrespect you." I said I would not return to the hotel. He said, "I'm so very pleased." I said I would write a review on TA. He said, "I don't care in the least." There was no empathy. No "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Nothing but arrogant contempt for the customer who pays this man's salary.

I had a wonderful stay at The Hay-Adams! The staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating, making our experience truly special. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of so many historic sites. The hospitality exceeded expectations, and I highly recommend this hotel. I look forward to staying again!

The Hay-Adams lives up to its reputation. Our stay here was exceptional. The staff, location, ambiance, room and hotel amenities, onsite food are all noteworthy. We have stayed in other five star hotels but this one is a notch above all of them.

This historic enclave across from Lafayette Park in Washington, DC was one of the best hotels that I have ever visited. Arrival and departures were seamless as was the food and beverages. Our rooms were spotless with amenities that were luxurious. The staff was professional, kind, and consistent. We loved this place and have already found another reason to return in a couple of months. Off the Record a quaint bar and grill type of eatery were filled was filled with happy servers and great fare.
