InterContinental Washington DC - The Wharf

My new husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel for our first day as a married couple. We opted for a brief staycation and we’re so glad we did! First of all when we mentioned that we were celebrating getting married we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a breathtaking view, double patio and incredible space! The staff was kind, attentive and accommodating. I can’t wait to stay at this hotel again! What a treat this was to stay at this amazing hotel! Please do yourself a favor and take advantage of this jewel at the Wharf!

Spent spring break in DC with my family, which ended up being such an amazing and fun experience. As soon as we arrived to the hotel we were greeted by Erinn in the lobby, who was smiles from ear to ear! When unsure of what/where to go, he made some great suggestions for my family. The hotel itself was amazing! The scent as soon as you go in, the lobby, the room and especially the rooftop pool exceeded my expectations. The location on the wharf gave us plenty of food/drink options after a long day. Lastly, all the staff were amazingly attentive and each morning when we were exiting the hotel, we were greeted as if they knew us for years! I would easily stay here again and look forward to our next trip!

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was literally the best experience. Rooms are beautiful, fantastic view from room, and 5 star service! We had a room on the 4th floor with a big patio. So many amazing restraints within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again.

No issues with the hotel itself — it’s clean, spacious, and in a decent location. However, I deducted a star due to the confusing amenity fee policy and some billing issues. At check-in, we were informed that the amenity fee could be applied toward onsite food and beverage purchases. Since we had two rooms, we ordered in-room breakfast on both days of our stay. Even though we asked for both breakfasts to be delivered to the same room, we were charged the delivery fee twice for a single delivery. At checkout, we were then told the amenity fee could only be applied to food and beverage charges made before midnight — meaning breakfast counted as the next day and didn’t qualify. That explanation didn’t make much sense, and to make matters worse, different front desk staff gave conflicting information. After explaining what we had originally been told, the front desk eventually “made an exception” and removed the charges. We were also told we’d receive our final bill via email, but it never arrived. After returning home, I checked the bill through the IHG app and discovered we had been charged for two additional nights of amenity fees. I’ve since contacted the front desk by email and am waiting for a response.

Great room and fantastic staff. This hotel is an example for all others to follow. Our room was spotless and the bathroom was luxurious, as were the robes. Also, event though we did not have the highest tier room, we had a good view of the wharf area, which is a great location in DC.
