To step inside our soaring entrance is to become a part of the past, present, and future of the Penn Quarter. Constructed in 1891 as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, the landmark example of Richardson Romanesque architecture was known as the Bank of Presidents, and resides at the intersection not just of 9th and F Street, but of American history.

I stayed at the hotel just before Christmas, it was a lovely trip and so was the hotel, there was a girl named Charlotte who was extremely helpful and made gave lots of great recommendations and made sure that our stay was brilliant. Will definitely be back again.

Had the most warm and welcoming experience being greeted by Charlotte at front desk , after going out of her way to walk me to the elevator showing me the different outlets of the property she picked up on an our anniversary and put a lovely card and sweet treat in our room . The cafe was great really enjoyed Nicky’s the managers kind attention . It was a really lovely experience and the rooms are very cool and unique.

I had a great time at the Riggs. The staff is super friendly and the location is great. Especially Charlotte at the front desk was very helpful during my stay. Hope to come back again in the future with my family. I recommend the Cafe as well. Food is great and great atmosphere.

Great hotel, family friendly & perfect location. Across the street from the Smithsonian Art Museum and 1 block away from Capital One Arena. Safe area & walking distance to CityCenter. Rooms were nice & clean. Cafe Riggs had great lunch. Overall highly recommend.

This is probably a lovely hotel. My husband and I really, really wanted to stay there for an upcoming trip. Unfortunately, I will never know if this hotel is as lovely as it looks online because the terrible website and customer service led me to cancel my booking. Long story short, first reservation made on the Riggs website didn't go through correctly (due to an error in their system, I was told). Had to rebook, and was charged extra for an accessible room (same category/amenities etc as standard rooms), which is illegal. Reservation department gave me the runaround and then stopped responding to my emails when I tried to sort everything out. I definitely got the feeling that at least on the reservations end this hotel does not quite have its act together.
