About the Hotel
To step inside our soaring entrance is to become a part of the past, present, and future of the Penn Quarter. Constructed in 1891 as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, the landmark example of Richardson Romanesque architecture was known as the Bank of Presidents, and resides at the intersection not just of 9th and F Street, but of American history.

We’ll stay here again
Great hotel. We came for 1 night with our 2 kids for a mini vacation. Location was perfect, room was clean and nice- great bedding. We would have loved to have cocktails in the cafe and hang at the rooftop- maybe next time without the kiddos. Staff was excellent and very helpful either way valet and bags

Hospitable & Beautiful Experience
Riggs Washington DC is not only an aesthetically beautiful space, but it is marked by true hospitality. The staff show an immaculate attention to detail. I felt cared for personally, but I was reassured that my group of sixty people was receiving the same warmth and welcome. Special thank you to Montana Warren, Tom Martinez, Ayele Wedajo, Diego, the Front Desk, and many others for ensuring our three-day event was a success.

Comfy beds, great location
Comfy beds and great breakfast. Great, walkable location to all of the major monuments. Doormen were all so friendly and helpful especially Diego. Hot water stopped working in the shower and resetting the system didn’t work near the end of our stay so that was unfortunate. Would still come back though!

Very nice location and hotel!
Great location, very friendly staff and room was very clean and comfortable. From moment of check-in to when we left, everyone was extremely accommodating. The restaurant on property was great as well...and of course the bar in the lower level area was very nice, although note there is a time limit for how long you have a table there (it is a popular spot). Like most everything in D.C./east coast, things were expensive compared to the middle of the country...so at least be prepared for that but I would say you get the value for everything. Highly recommend staying here if you are in D.C.!

Great trip to DC at the Riggs
Great location, can see National Portrait Gallery from our room. Greeted at front desk with a glass of sparkling wine. Very nice touches in the room including cute yellow slippers, nespresso coffee, and water. Mr DC as the valet/doorsman was incredibly friendly and made our trip feel so special. He remembered our names, gave us tips on places to eat, and opened every door with a smile. My only negative comment was the small bathroom shower/toilet room. When door is opened there is not enough room to get in and out. But other than that slight inconvenience, the place is wonderful.
