I booked this hotel for my work. I write this review because of their hospitality. I arranged three rooms. Mr. Hung at the front desk helped me a lot. I didn’t know what’s to do but he was one who helped me with patients. The hospitality was great. It was so nice and clean.

Terrible customer service experience and hotel committed fraud I stayed here 3 weeks ago and they charged my card a ridiculous amount of money for security deposit double the normal and then said I'd get the money back well it's going on day 18 now and still I have not got my money back going to escalate this situation and this terrible fraudulent company trying to steal peoples money.

This review would have been a 4 star review because the hotel is well located (about a 20-30 minute walk or 5 minute Uber to most attractions), the beds are comfortable, the space in the rooms is fairly large; there were a few issues with housekeeping not bringing up sufficient glasses, towels, coffee and the water in the shower was not overly powerful or hot (maintenance came by and fixed this). However, I made it a 5 star because the assistant manager Bruce Daley was amazing. He fixed all the minor issues that arose quickly and with a very good communication style. Please note that there is a $35 facility fee that is charged and you get access to a number of amenities for this fee - you need to be aware so that you avail fully of what you are paying for.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Booking made for Deluxe Queen 2 x bed. 2 rooms. Family of 6 travelling together and booking stated interconnecting or adjoining rooms and we were put on Level 5 and Level 10 opposite sides of hotel. I was separated from young children and unable to care for them properly as travelling with my father and 4 children. Staff at desk didn’t even care. At check (late at night) in the guy was rude, at best and when I went back down next morning to discuss further the desk guy couldn’t have cared less. The “destination fee” is a rip off, for one thing no “high speed” internet to be found. Then to top it off my 3 year got sick and vomitted through the bed. I rang housekeeping but “guest services” answered and the woman was sooooo rude to me on the phone. Over half an hour later I rang again and said I get that you are rude and completely inconvenienced but just the deliver the new bedding and I will change myself as wouldn’t want to have anyone here help me in any way. Waited ages and some bedding showed up and I said I also need a new mattress protector and pillow cases she rolled her eyes and pulled a face and then came back ages later with them. I said what do I do with soiled bedding when I’ve changed the bed and she said to me “no English just speak Spanish” so I ended up with the soiled sheets sitting in our room with us all night and well into the next day. No one followed up to check if my daughter was ok even though I said she was vomitting. The rooms are old and tired, no ventilation or fans in bathroom and shaving mirror is rusted and there is water damaged door on the bathroom and water damaged skirting. We have no safety lock on our door, just the holes where it has been removed. Will never stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone at all. Terrible experience and so glad we only had 4 nights here in total. Look elsewhere for much better accomodation for your money and much more friendly and attentive staff.

Just got back from a stay at the Royal Sonesta in DC, and honestly, it had its ups and downs. Here's the breakdown: Pros: First off, the location is chef’s kiss. It’s close to everything—tons of great spots within walking distance, which made exploring the city a breeze. They also added a nice local touch with chocolates in the room, which I loved. I didn’t get to try the restaurant, but I heard great things about it. The $15 credit they give you at check-in is a nice incentive, and their in-room coffee setup was solid. Bonus points for having access to a pool and fitness center, even though we didn’t really use them. Oh, and the bed? Super comfy. It made up for the fact that the room itself was on the smaller side. Cons: The service was...just okay. The front desk team was great—friendly and helpful—but I wasn’t a fan of how the attendants handled our departure. They were really pushy about us taking a metered cab and didn’t explain the details, which felt unnecessary and left a bad taste. There were a few issues with the room, too. The water pressure and temperature in the bathroom were not great, and the walls must be paper-thin because we could hear way too much from the hallways. Our view also left a lot to be desired, but I’m guessing that depends on the room you get. Overall: The Royal Sonesta has its good moments, and if you find a great deal, it’s worth a stay. But with so many hotels in DC, we’ll probably try a different one next time. That said, it’s not a bad option if you’re looking for a convenient location and a comfy bed!
