Always a wonderful experience and it’s due to staff such as Binny. He provides 5 star attention to detail before during and after all of our stays. It’s because of employees such as he that go above and beyond that are the reason my coworkers and I will only stay at the Thompson when in DC

Globalist on a quick overnight stay due to cancelled flight - do not recommend. I asked for a room with a large working desk - the junior suite I received was an upgrade but terribly designed with the desk barely fitting my 13 inch laptop. It appears that the only room with a serviceable desk at the property is a Thompson suite (a standard suite) - which the hotel claimed was not available despite it showing up when doing a dummy booking in the WOH app. It took 45 minutes and a follow up call for them to deliver a pair of slippers which were unpackaged and appear to be used. Front desk also ignored my calls using the in room phone but picked up on first ring when I used my cell phone. Breakfast benefit was generous but the food was overcooked and tasteless. Overall, this hotel appears to be fancy at first glance but fails to meet the basic requirements of a hotel.

Stayed at Thompson again now at Thompson suite. All around great stay and great deal all things considered. Location is great, restaurant is solid ( especially nice coffee), the room was huge, staffs were generally competent and helpful (and also seemed pretty happy). Naturally booked another stay as I was checking out. But a few things to note - took me some time to realize the elevator was not activated by room key even though it had every look of it. I don't know if it's broken or not. - thompson suite (while very nice) has insuite doors that need to be opened by room key, susceptible to being locked out. Seemed unnecessary - one staff was so aggressive on tip, I was a bit surprised. Like the man could not wait till I strap my kid to stroller and reach for my wallet. I only saw him one day out of 10 day I stayed so it wasn't that big of a deal

Great corner room and comfortable bed. The staff was really friendly and I liked the location. I also stayed at the Waldorf on the same trip. I preferred the view here at the Thompson with a corner room better. Also having a pizza place open till 4 am nearby was great.

Stayed as part of the American Express fine hotels offer and it did not disappoint. The staff, food quality, and the decor were the highlights. The Surveryor has great staff and a generous brunch menu with one of the best steak and eggs I’ve ever had. The room was cozy and had a great corner view that felt extra special. Only complaint is the bath products could be better quality for that caliber of a hotel. Overall great experience.
