paradise in tucson

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

What a wonderful place to stay at. It is near everything in Tucson as well as the mountains, yet once you are on the extensive, secluded grounds you feel as if you are in a mini paradise. We were there for 4 nights and had dinner and breakfast at the Inn - both delicious and served with the freshest ingredients with a large variety of dishes to choose from. The staff throughout was friendly, helpful and cheerful. Our room was large with a private, walled outdoor sitting area with a table/chairs as well as two lounge chairs. When we arrived home my husband realized he dropped his wedding band on our way out from our room. He was ready to buy a new one but called the Inn to tell them where he thought he dropped it. They called later to say it had been found and they were returning it to us!!! Who could believe that? The Inn also has a lovely tea in the afternoon with really delicious little sandwiches, scones and pastries - both sweet and savory and very tasty. I cannot say enough good things about the Arizona Inn as well as Tucson which is an enchanting place to visit.

Old world property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This is a special place, in the same family for generations. The site itself is very beautiful and authentic. Wonderful swimming pool. Very well kept up. Old world feel. The staff is very nice, professional and welcoming. My only down is the food. The breakfast avocado toast has almost no avocado. I saw that each day. Also, the bread is generic. There are excellent bakeries in Tucson! Too bad since the setting is so beautiful. Soon back with room service. And I still absolutely recommend this place.

Old world charm at it’s best

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Old world charm. It’s a classy and relaxing place that I would highly recommend. It’s not a corporate hotel, it’s such a nice change. My grandmother used to come and stay here for a month, and I can see why. Nestled in the heart of Tucson, you would think you are out on a remote ranch. The landscaping is immaculate, the service impeccable and the food in the dining rooms is excellent

Arizona Inn -- Perfect Spot for a Memorable Event

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

I hosted a small dinner party at Arizona Inn--the food and service were outstanding. The great setting and fantastic weather made for a memorable evening. Working with Crystal was a pleasure and the prices were quite fair. I was impressed with every aspect of the event and recommend Arizona Inn without reservation.

The Arizona Inn in sad decline

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

My partner and I paid a visit Labor Day weekend. Although the room was large and elegant and the Inn's facilities are impressive, our stay was unpleasant on account of their disgraceful attitude to service animals. We have a service dog. While waiting to check in, the bellhop on duty walked over to claim that dogs are not allowed in the hotel. The desk clerk on duty backed us up. The next day another bellhop treated us with real aggression, ordering us to remove the dog. When I offered to show him the service dog license, he sneered "it's not worth my while". And after that we were told that no dogs, including service animals, are allowed in the Inn's public rooms. This prohibition is, of course, against the law. I gave a full account of these problems to the hotel's general manager, Mr Brad McCarthy. So far from taking any action to make the situation right, he stonewalled, at first simply denying that any of this had happened, and then referring vaguely to innocent "misunderstandings". When I requested that he interview the offensive bellhop and get back to us, he flatly refused to do so. I add that their garden's beds need weeding; the maid had left a badly broken drinking glass in our room; and that the over-priced breakfast can at best be described as very mediocre. All these are clear signs of mismanagement at a senior level.

My wife and I visited the Arizona Inn in November. The staff made me realize what I had been missing at other hotels. From check-in to check-out they were courteous and attentive to our every need. High tea was a real treat and the food was wonderful. We want to make this an annual event!
